About Cory Brinkerhoff
I started my real estate career in January of 1980, a year after graduating the University of Kansas. I worked as a rental property manager while in school, and became intrigued by the potential real estate ownership presents to the informed investor.
For the first 12 years, I worked at McGrew Real Estate, and learned a great deal about the several aspects of the real estate business: home sales, financing, building, development, commercial real estate, and investments. In 1992, Re/Max opened an office in Lawrence, and that seemed a good fit for me.. In 1994, I earned my Broker's license, but wasn't quite ready to leave the comforts of a "brand name" real estate office. Over the years, I learned that my success in real estate was due to my ability to relate to people and their needs, my experience, and my efforts. My customers and clients choose to do business with me because of who I am and what I do, not because of the logo on my business card.
In January of 2002, I started my own office. Business was good until 2008, when the bottom fell out of the economy and the real estate market crashed. I survived several years of no business at all, until 2010, when the first signs of recovery began to appear. 2011 was good, and it was clear that we were all on the way back "home."
In 2012 my wife, Cindy, joined me in the real estate business as Vice President of Organization and Productivity, and, as a result, 2012 was not just the best year so far for BrinkerHoff Real Estate, but the best year for me in 33 years in the business. That's how good Cindy is at organization and productivity! Each year since has been better, and it continues to be a great ride.
The market is back, and business is good, thanks to the loyalty of past customers and clients, who come back to do business again as their needs change, and who recommend my services to their friends and colleagues. Seventy-five percent of my business is repeat and referrals. The other 25% comes from the people I meet from day to day, who feel my relaxed style and broad knowledge of the market gives them an advantage in achieving their individual real estate goals.
If you are considering buying or selling a home or would just like to have additional information about real estate in the Lawrence area, please don't hesitate to call or e-mail.
Cindy and I look forward to talking to you.
